Life Care Planning

As a Michigan elder law firm that subscribes to the principles of Life Care Planning, we offer a client centered, holistic solution to families navigating the long-term care maze and struggling with the demands of maintaining their senior loved one’s care.  Our goal is to improve the quality of life of the Michigan seniors and veterans that we work with.  We do this by maximizing independence and resources for your loved one.

Life Care Planning is different then traditional estate planning or elder law.

Life Care Planning offers care coordination and support to families whose senior loved ones are still living at home or with family.  Our care coordinators can locate and coordinate needed care and community services throughout Michigan, while also serving as a the senior’s advocate.  The goal is to lighten the load on family caregivers and improve the elder’s quality of life and the quality of care they receive.

Through Life Care Planning, we can develop a plan to address the legal, financial, health care, housing, and long-term care issues that are created by aging, disability, and chronic diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.  By putting together a long-term care road map, a family will know exactly what steps are necessary when crisis strikes.  This advanced planning enables Michigan seniors, veterans and their families avoid the asset protection crisis that occurs when last-minute decisions must be made about their elderly loved one’s long-term care.

If a loved one is living in an assisted living faclity, a care coordinator may make regular visits, to maintain the elder’s quality of care, serve as a family advocate and if quality care is not being provided, interven in order to resolve problems before an inury occurs.

In the end, Life Care Planning is about offering peace of mind.
