Michigan Veterans still receive certain benefits even after they have passed away. If the Veteran left the service in good standing, he or she may be entitled to additional benefits, ceremony, and honors.

Some of the possible benefits include a burial and funeral expense allowance, a Presidential memorial certificate, a grave marker, burial at sea, burial in a national cemetery, and the folding and presentation of the American Flag.
